Meet the team

Barbara Heslop is the Director of Heslop & Platt, a firm of solicitors and French law specialists.

Barbara, a well known expert in the field of French property law works together with our experienced consultant solicitor John Kitching, our associate solicitor Fabienne Atkin and paralegals Helen Fullerton, Morgan Fraux & Tara Short to provide English speaking clients with a wide range of French legal advice; we are all fluent in written and spoken French. Zornitsa Ledlie completes the team.

Barbara is an English qualified solicitor who studied French law at the University of Grenoble in France and has extensive experience of both English and French property law and procedure.

John Kitching is a Solicitor who has spent the last 10 years specialising in French Property law. John studied law at Sheffield Hallam University and l'Université de Paris XII. John has particular expertise in UK and French probate, succession and estate planning.

Fabienne Atkin

Fabienne is a French national and a qualified solicitor. She graduated in European and Business Law in France and gained a MA in Business Law in the UK. Fabienne has practised law for over 10 years and gained experience in property matters working for leading UK insurers.

Morgan Fraux

Morgan is a French national and a French Law Graduate. Morgan complemented her French legal studies with English legal studies at Nottingham University and at the Bristol Institute of Legal Practice. She works closely with Barbara Heslop and is a fluent English speaker.

Helen Fullerton

Currently on maternity leave.

Helen is a law graduate and studied French law at the University of Nantes in France. Helen has been with Heslop & Platt for eight years and is our senior paralegal with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Helen also deals with a wide range of accounts and administrative tasks for the firm.

Tara Short

Tara is a fully bilingual French law graduate with a Masters in Law from the University of Bordeaux in France. She gained practical experience in French property matters whilst working for a leading Anglo-French estate agency. Tara joined Heslop & Platt in August 2017 as a paralegal and works closely with Fabienne Atkin.

Zornitsa Ledlie

Our Office Manager is Zornitsa Ledlie - a French/Bulgarian national. Zornitsa graduated in Law, Economics and Management at the University of Toulouse 1. She is an experienced administrator and deals with a wide range of accounts & administrative tasks for the firm.
